Unos años atrás, los adorables y quijotescos They Might Be Giants se hicieron pasar por ellos en «We're The Replacements» (Miscellaneus, 1991):

Incluso citan a su magnífico bajista, Tommy Stintson:

Este Stintson era hermano del guitarrista, Bob, cuya muerte por sobredosis está muy bien contada pot Chuck Klosterman en el descacharrante Pégate un tiro para sobrevivir (Reservoir Books, 2006).
The Replacements fue el típico grupo pre-algo que no se comió ni una rosca comercial pero que influyó decisivamente en bandas posteriores, del tipo Nirvana o Pavement.
