Dark Was the Night (4AD, 2009) es un muy feliz recopilatorio por doble motivo: porque el objetivo que lo mueve es recaudar dinero para la organización Red Hot y porque ha quedado un álbum original y lleno de calidad. El mundo indie junto y revuelto haciendo versiones o componiendo piezas originales por una buena causa.

Feist es la que más aparece. Algunos arrejuntamientos van aparentemente contra natura, pero funcionan de maravilla; sobre el papel, tal vez la unión más extraña sea la de Blonde Redhead con Devastations. Las versiones de «Feelin' Good» y «With A Girl Like You» son brillantes.

Como Pilatos, tiene sus ratos; pero funciona la mayor parte del tiempo. Muy recomendable tanto si eres completista o filántropo o simlemente te gusta la música.
